Also, if socialism means feeding and housing your poor and homeless and passing laws to make the tax evading rich pay the same percentage as the poor which in turns supports programs to assist the needy...then sign me up!

In this, wonderful world of capitalism if the rich and educated get richer and the poor and less educated carries the tax burdens of the rest as the poor get poorer that's just capitalism favoring the favored! Besides the poor should go to college or start a company right! LOL

OK, I'm with you on all your points, however, why is it that you think Zinn is suggesting we dont have laws? I think you are missing his point, or I'm missing something... a non violent acts of un cooperation is not breaking the law of man, it serves to reverse the law of man which is not in line with a law of God which is a synonym for a law that favors what is ideal for humanity... in this case the law of the draft, I'm assuming.. this has nothing to do w a bunch of people wanting chaos.

"white collar" crimes affect way more civilians than crimes by individuals & small groups & yes, the need for a system that protects forward movement & keeps a society from falling into chaos is not the issue... however, this kind of activity is the answer to the widespread "white collar" crimes by the military & medical industrial complexes... objectioners need to be allowed & have a right to express themselves & our forefathers saw the need for this... this is how the U.S. came into existence.

peaceful protest historically only works when those being protested are scared of violence

i think someone needs to show them what the potential is when they attack us
