Lady Gaga performs her rendition of 'Imagine' at the 13th annual HRC National Dinner 2009. Before her speech, she said that she was upset that homophobia is running rampant in the music industry. She also announced that she will be marching in the Equality March.

@23parkour23 I don't think John would ever approve of you saying that there is anyone unworthy of singing his song. If anyone sings any song by any artist, it's a sign of admiration. There is no such thing as worthiness to sing a song. And I don't know what music videos you're talking about. All of her music videos have messages in it, they're visual piece for pointing out political problems, visual arts, or simply for fun. So far in her videos, I see nothing hypocritical.

HRC=Human Rights Campaign. I don't understand what people who don't believe in human rights are doing listening to this song on this or any other website and--complaining? Im really not a fan of lady gaga at all, actually done my share of bashing But i have to give her props. This is a wonderful tribute. I think john was smiling on her that night and yoko was definatly proud. She has helped to pass john's message onto following and his hope's and passions to live on in another generation. Thank you gaga, for leting the message of peace live on... im proud of you : )

If John Lennon were with us today..The renditions he would make of this song 'Imagine' would be endless. In the words that he had provided with this song, to change a few words is definatly not an issue as long as the Meaning of the song stays intact.
