Ian Riley's 2 black steeds 44871 & 45407 were in charge of the Railway Touring Cos "Buxton Spa Express".
On the outward leg, the train is seen climbing out of Manchester Victoria Station up Miles Platting Bank, and then at Dove Holes station.
I then took a look at the old Midland Railway station of Millers Dale, and thought how great it would be to see this section back in action if they ever reconnect Buxton-Bakewell and Matlock. Sadly it was overcast and the golden colours on trees don't really stand out.
Finally we see the 2 5s pass Great Rocks Jnc and on to Peak Forest on the return leg.
As ever, thanks for watching and thanks to all involved with the tour.
Good to see Austin and Phil - and I think we all share the prize for getting the old bridge in picture at MP, and I even managed a few heads at PF.

  • Excellent locations good shots of them working hard.(C&A)

  • @robmasterman Many thanks Bob. One can only hope that Peak Rail may one day achieve one of its original goals. Just need a big win on the Euro lottery to help them

  • @noelist Thanks Leon. It was tempting to chase them after Buxton Peak Forest, but had family commitments to go home to. Thanks for viewing and your comments
