Jet Moto style terrain. Coded in C++/HLSL. I used photosourced textures (cgtextures.com/imageafter.com) along with a hand painted alpha map.

    I'm working on a terrain engine myself, how did you manage the terrain texturing?

  • I hand painted a control texture. Each channel represents an alpha map for a particular material. Some materials have different properties. For example, the rock has a displacement map and the grass has rim lighting.
