This powerful, emotional, and beautiful song comes from Sacha Sacket's "Shadowed" album. I got into his music a few years ago and find his songs poetic. His voice is understated and emotive, his piano playing is exquisite and soothing, and his lyrics are open and piercing (check out "Brandon Boyd", a song about the very Mr. Boyd who fronts Incubus). In fact, Sacha, Incubus, Hoobastank, and Linkin Park all went to the same school, which begs the question, WHY THE HELL WASN'T I THERE? Can you imagine?!? Hope you enjoy.
P.S. There is a lyric that may need clarification. I sing "I can't be your Francis Bean", which is a reference to Kurt Cobain's daughter (as this song is from the perspective of the child of a self-destructive person).
You're so good! I wish my voice was good like yours! Maybe it's sinuses holding me back who knows. Keep the music coming!

@Foobiquanz Thanks for checking it out--are you a Sacket fan? I've got 2 of his albums. Need to get the later one. Would like to see him live, but he's always on the West Coast. I've kinda always sung the way I do, but did get a BA in Vocal Music, which required a TON of vocal lessons and choir time, which helped me understand how to breathe, where my strengths are, what a huge difference changing vowels can do, etc. These vids are for fun, but I do TRY to make them professional in a way.

Thank you so much! I have never had the pleasure of seeing him live--just online. I use his music in my MP3 player on walks to mellow out and even while at the dentist recently to help me relax during a tooth filling!
Glad you enjoyed!
