Director's Statement
Generations of American taxpayers have bailed out today's big banks to the tune of $12 trillion (New York Times, July 2011). That is $83,000 p American taxpayer, plus interest. Still today, the big banks gamble with government (taxpayer) backing - a 'heads I win, tails you lose' scenario. This absurd scenario obliterates any notion of a true free-market society, we are slowly being reduced to a feudal society: where a small group of individuals, behind closed doors, shape our common economic future, and there is nothing we can do about it. This film explores how this all came to be over the last 3 years.

  • @drd105 What about the other 11.5 trillion the FED has been printing and using to buy toxic assets of all types from all sorts of 'financial institutions'? Have the taxpayer's made money on that yet? i think you know the answer

  • "Wall Street itself is an abstraction." It's time to personalize these abuses. No more "Wall Street." No more "financial sector." No more "Congress." No more convenient institutional references that act to absolve individuals of personal accountability. It's time to restore our union on the backs of these people and their ill gotten gains.

  • This is a bit misleading... the bailouts were mostly paid back.

  • great vid but the music is a bit OTT !!

  • Please stop sucking the life out of the actual film with this so called music".... the content speaks loudly enough ... It would be good to have a button that turns the "music" while the speeches can still be heard....

  • God I hate watching these things; they make me sick. Here I am in utter turmoil because I've got nothing to my name, contemplating suicide while these assholes won't even accept responsibility for the absolutely horrendous situation they've put us in.

    Wish I had more money, I'd pay them a visit and bring them with me. I really would. As it stands I'll just be another of their victims, a nameless veteran who got shafted by the greediest sons of bitches there ever was.

    Fuck you, Wall Street.

  • Ahh our financial leaders...they're a bunch of tools huh? Every time I start to get down on myself I just think of them and I feel better. Makes no difference to me if they get away with it. They wear nicer clothes and walk in different circles but they're all just thieves with a bunch of wannabes playing along for scraps off the master's table.

  • @ 8:33 a voice says "our free market is at stake"

    as if we've ever had a free market. The free market is what we haven't had. It's also the solution to this. Let the market operate without arrogant idiots telling people how to run their lives. Politicians want to run our lives but all they can do is add an 'I' and ruin our lives.

  • fire all these financial assholes

  • -->Awesome<-- (the soundtrack too) :]

  • So very well said!! Excellent video, the best i've seen on the subject. So how does it feel to know each one of us owes so much to be told what, where, when and how...We will never be able to pay this off, our childrens children will be suffering! I say tell all the greedy bastards a planet of gold has been found and load em all up on one ship and send em to the SUN!!
