When asked for my 'dream' cast of RENT, Simone is the ONLY choice to play Mimi. I saw her numerous times when RENT was playing in Chicago way back in 1998, and her voice just blew me away. She is fantastic! She has a true voice--there is no digital junk added....she is just superb.

I totally understand her. I love the fact that she's her own. I am also related to someone famous and people would always try to listen for us to sound the same. I love the fact that I can hold my own. This is one thing that I had learned from Nina Simone because she was so unique. Individuals last forever, copycats don't. Thank you Nina Simone and thank you Simone! Love you!

She is a different artist than her mother... and, it is unfair to compare her to her mother because she is not her mother... she is on her own path as an artist and is the daughter of a GREAT artist.. She is good, but different from her mother.

Nina Simone's daughter is not her mother. She has her own style and her mother comes from a different time. Simone shouldn't and isn't trying to be her mother. Let her DO her.......... "SIMONE."

Hey Simone, you may not remember me we worked together in Aida and Les Mis at the Muny. I played Re Re's "father" during Les Mis, running cart scene anyway we miss you! COME BACK TO STL! :D

she has a great voice. but she lacks the subtlety of her mother. its impossible to hear a nina simone song and not know its a nina simone song, whether she was singing or not. Simone tends to over sing and turn one note into 3 or 4. i respect her talent and power. its just hard to compare her to nina.

I saw her yesterday at the north sea jazzfestival... Jesus, she is so f...great!!!! and I didnt think on her mother. This Simone is her own outstanding artist!!!!!
