Yes she skated while injured. But even when she lands her jumps, they dont compare to her other competitors. Elizaveta has 3Lz+3T, suzuki has an amazing 3Lz, Leonova has 3T+3T and most of Kostners jumps are amazing (except Lz ofcourse). Alissa doesnt have any good jumps and she may find herself being defeated by Wagner at nationals if she doesnt get her jumps better
Despite the injury I'm happy to see her fight through the program. Before she switched coaches she always skated with no fight in her, even when she was perfectly healthy. I think this new attitude will get her far (after she heals up), and hopefully onto the World podium where she deserves to be.
Yeah, she skated while injured. The team doctors apparently said she could skate without further injuring herself so I guess she decided to go for it. She's resting up for a week.
I've read that she has an injury to her left calf and there might be a small ankle issue as well. I guess a combination of those two, amongst other factors such as nerves, resulted in this performance. I hope she can pull things together by nationals!
This program has been completely changed from the first one we saw at Skate America. Why such persistence with the 3Loop? all she needed to medal was a 3Lutz2Toe, 3Flip, 3Loop, 3Toe, 3Toe2T2T and a couple of Axles and she would have medaled! Whatever happened to the her sit spins? One of the most gorgeous in figure skating yet she no longer performs them. I'm getting tired of seeing her do the same positions on the same spins.
