@Orcafriend - Hey, I'm happy to report that I've been back to see Tilikum on a regular basis ever since the end of August, and nothing has changed for this poor guy. And now, he's been cooped up in the E pool for nearly 3 weeks while they work on the DWS pool. Very sad. Oh hey, did you see the latest article on The Orca Project, Keto and Tilikum Express the Stress of Captivity. Would love to have some of you feedback on these highly educated former trainers and what goes on behind the scene

He would share a concrete tank with Tiama on occassion, but now she's gone. Tili spends his time ALONE in either the very back pool or the dine with shamu pool. He isn't used for shows anymore since what happened with Dawn. This animal has always been isolated from the other Whales, with the occassional playtime with Tiama who has also shown aggression and been uncooperative. To suggest this Whale, or any of the others are happy is ridiculously ignorant. Tilikum is NOT happy with his situation!

@mishtastic it may be possible to attempt to release tilikum back into then oceans but the point being, there is no definite answer of whether he will find his mother, or if the release would be successful. Because the focus always needs to be on his success.

@lkwhostalkinggx3 Well actually he would be in a sea pen to learn how to once again behave as a wild whale. If he could find his mother he would have a really good chance at making it in the wild. Male orcas (especially) depend on their moms. Every whale they are introduced to, how they hunt and so on is a result of their mother. WIth out their mom its hard to survive in a pod. It is possible for him to return to the sea.

@1998TheBear I think it's ridiculous to say they should have 'gotten rid of him before he killed Dawn.' these trainers, and all the staff at SeaWorld are not oblivious to the fact they are dealing with wild, unpredictable animals. they knew Tili's reputation. not to mention, how would you just 'get rid' of him? a 12,000lb ocra that's been in captivity for 25+ years. you don't just throw him out in the ocean and leave him to his own devices. it doesn't work like that.

Tilikum used to give sea world problems a lot before he killed Dawn. They should have seen the signs and gotten ride of him before he killed her.

@CgColleenGorman While I completely agree with you, if you don't agree with captivity, why go to the shows and pay them money/support them? You're doing that by going to his shows...
Also, everyone needs to see The Cove, buy it on dvd, it's worth it. and Earthlings (on youtube)

@thealaska12345678 -- where is that video?

@richorcaonyt - as YouTube shows, these were taken two months ago. I have more....many many more from various dates after this was taken.
I saw the One Ocean show a couple weeks after it opened and Tilikum has a big part in it. I was very happy to see him, he's enourmous! And beautiful

@parapadme - I have seen the show several times now. He plays about a 3.5 minute role in that 26 minute show... IF he performs that is. I've seen him refuse several times, and good on him. He is indeed beautiful and "enormous", in fact, it is only a couple of the reasons he shouldn't be confined to tiny little pools of water. It's ridiculous and everyone I talk with at the shows agrees.
