Official teaser trailer for 'RED HILL'. Official Selection Panorama - 60th Berlin Film Festival 2010.
The feature film debut of Patrick Hughes, acclaimed director of the YoutTube short film sensation 'SIGNS'.

Starring: Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Steve Bisley (Mad Max) and Tom E. Lewis (The Proposition).

Synopsis: When a young police officer, Constable Shane Cooper, relocates to the small high-country town of Red Hill with his pregnant wife, he does so in the hope of starting a new family. But when news of a prison break in the city sends the local law enforcement officers into a panic, Shanes first day on duty quickly goes from bad to worse.

Enter Jimmy Conway, a convicted murderer serving life behind bars, he returns to the isolated outpost seeking revenge. Now caught in the middle of what quickly becomes a horrifying blood bath, Shane will be forced to take the law into his own hands if he is to survive. A tight action/thriller, Red Hill unfolds over the course of a single day. Told with explosive action and chilling violence, the story is a modern day western set in high-country Australia.

This seems to be a very dramatic movie about people slowly pointing guns at things...

I used to be a big fan of most of the guys in the Expendables series. But putting them all together into a bunch of movies with such horrible plots, makes me not want to watch any of their movies anymore. It is like taking all the NBA greats and putting them on an all-star team... that team usually is no fun to watch, and Expendables is not different. I think "Signs" is loosely based on how Arnold hooked up with his maid.

Urban myth in Victoria Australia that during world war 2 american soldiers holidaying in australia let a pet black panther go into the bush. Rumour is they brought it back from asia. Rumours abound of panther sightings over the years.

An australian bigfoot if you will.

Good film on a string budget, his short signs is brilliant. Curious to see what he does with the expendables.

That's the excuse 99.99% of "indie" filmmakers give for not writing a real script.

    It's an excuse.

Looks great...Patrick Hughes seems to have a great cinematic eye and I'd love to see the film. Signs blew me away, so if it's anything as good, then I'll enjoy it.
