He is still funny as hell! He's one of the reasons i love Curb Your Enthusiasm so much !!!

Super Dave RULES! When I was a kid, I always thought he was real. Now, I have an eight-year old boy, and he thinks Super Dave is real. We have a blast watching his stunts. :-)

Couldn't fit it in. I use a trial conversion program to rip these clips and 2 minutes is my maximum, unfortunately. I believe the longer version is posted elsewhere on Youtube.

God, him and Benny Hill with those 'stunt falls'! Gotta love it1 Sure wish Bizarre reruns were on TV now, same with Laff In Gong Show and Benny Hinn.
(sorry I was trying to reply and hit remove accidentally! YouTube really needs to reword those two and move them further apart!)
As for Benny HiNN, I think he's still one of the funniest jokesters on TV, but I really miss Benny HiLL.

The funniest part of his stunts was his in-the-moment commentary. "I'm coming up to the ramp now, and...I...missed it! OH MY GOD!!! OH THIS HURTS!!!". Does anyone remember whose variety show Bob Einstein introduced his "Super Dave" character on? I think it was Sonny and Cher, but please post a comment if you know for sure.

Super Dave's first-ever appearance was on the John Byner Comedy Hour in 1972, which probably explains the later reunion between Byner and Bob Einstein on Bizarre in the 80's. Einstein also played Super Dave on a variety show hosted by Dick Van Dyke in the mid-70's.

Thank you! It was the Van Dyke show I was remembering. I think the first Super Dave I ever saw was a car "stunt" Where ir was a close shot of him and the car. Then the camera pulls back and an electromagnet falls and puts the car into a compactor! Of course the commentary was hilarious. "I'm in the glove compartment!". You have a great collection of vids. The car-crusher stunt was the first Super Dave stunt on the BIZARRE show as well, in either the first or second episode, only this time it was a big crane claw that lifts the car into the compactor, which then crushes it down into a cube. Super Dave makes similar comments afterwards, only with more swearing ("I'll watch the rest of the show through my asshole") than he could ever do on the Van Dyke show. :)
