Unsolved History - Aztec Temple of Blood
Part 5

An Aztec sacrifice of 20,000 people over a period of four days in 1411 is examined. The sacrifice consisted of a sacrificial priest cutting the person's skin beneath the rib cage, reaching up and cutting the arteries and veins attached to their heart and pulling it out. Then the body was pushed down the stairs of the altar. After an examination, it is proven that this many people could be sacrificed in such a small amount of time.

  • Spanish taught the Aztec civilization? The Spanish who were disease ridden, sexually repressed, and slaughtered thousands of their own people just for being a "heretic"? Those guys taught the Aztec, who bathed twice a day, had running water, and the biggest city in the world at the time about civilization? You are a fucking idiot if you really think that.

  • this is the absolute truth..

the spanish did not beat them, it was all their neighbors

  • Does Spanish Inquisition who tortured and killed systematically and the Witch Hunt ring a bell?? How about the near-extintion of native americans?? 16th century Europe was as savage as native Mesoamerican cultures, but for different reasons. Not that I'm saying that the aztec sacrifices were something good, at least not on our standards, they believed it was needed to maintain the universe balanced.

  • @Skybaby79 I didn't say all were. We are studying this in history now and there have been several sources that stated just as this did that in certain times the warriors themselves volunteered for the honor; they knew that in battle they were likely to die anyway and their religious beliefs supported the need for the sacrifices. These people gave their own children under dire circumstances. Yes their enemies struggled, and if they stumbled they were hauled up by their hair, yes.

  • @angelfish43 Yeeeeaaaaahh Thats why most had to be tied up and lead by the hair right?

    I think not

  • @crypter27 I think I said that. But I also said the Aztecs and even other MesoAmericans. even some of the ones being sacrificed, believed in the practice.

  • @angelfish43 Well Jesus sacrificed him self, not any one else!

  • @crypter27 Catholics never killed women and children? Are you serious? I know of few if any people professing a certain religion not willing to kill or enslave others for personal gain or to promote their doctrine and to say that their god approved of or demanded it. And if it were the belief of the Aztecs that it was glorious to offer yourself as a sacrifice that is no different than Jesus offering himself as a sacrifice to save the world.

  • @FinalLugiaGuardian so true

  • @skyrimpodcast Christians weren't the only ones involved in the north atlantic slave trade,Jews played a much bigger part & thats historical fact!

  • @crypter27 yeah but wasnt it the spanish who enslaved natives and africans working them to death and having millions more die in the slave trade on boats. Some Christians they were..

  • @sunearthmoonjupiter I'm sorry but I'm calling bull. Americans, have never performed a systematic mass sacrifice of 20,000 people by cutting out their hearts while the victim screamed in agony from the pain. The atomic bomb, as bad as it was on the people of Hiroshima, is a more desirable fate than having to march up a staircase listening to the screams of victims having their chests sliced open and their hearts ripped out, knowing that within a matter of minutes the same was to happen to you.
