I did this song to see how good I could get a solid death metal track to sound using only the software instruments in Garageband. I think it sounds pretty good, but I quickly got tired of the tune itself, so I ditched the project and cut it off at about 1:30. However, I decided to upload it anyways just to show that it was possible, I've seen people attempt it before, and it never sounds even remotely like real death metal. Make sure to rate and comment, let me know what you think.

  • Hey man, I am thinking of making a death metal song about ebola for my english class... I would record the guitar and vocals, but I don't know how I would get the good drum track, suck as this one. Where did you get this?

  • @TinyKurds I just wrote the MIDI track by hand, its really pretty simple stuff :D

  • @remedyz0802 How do I do that? Do I need to buy some pad or anything?

  • @TinyKurds Nope! just use the MIDI editor inside of garageband (or whatever software you're using)

  • that opening riff sound like some Behemoth :D

  • @jtgilmore13 Thank you very much ;)

  • How did you get a fat, metal sounding guitar instrument on garageband?

  • If you like metal/metalcore stuff, check out my song I made on Garageband called "A Cry Beyond"!! It's on my page.

  • I advise to use a distorsion pedal lije the boss metal core, with a no effect track for the guitar. With a good adjustement, you really can have a great metal sound. Then, the drum it's much better with ez drummer, but it's a liitle bit expansive.

Have a very good bass sound is easy, with the equalizer and a no effect or edgy rock track.

Good luck for all of mac users !

  • pretty damn sweet :)

  • WOW very good job my friend. I would love to hear more

  • Could you make a video explaining how to make blast beats like that?

  • Nice work on the drums man, i've been doing the same things in GB, a brighter metal sound but still similar. Anyways nice work.

  • @joejumps4fun you can slow down the tempo and record it, then move it back up to whatever, it will make it faster

  • You should go to effects and lower the pitch on the guitar.

  • That drumming...
