My friends Linda, Tom, and Dawn are practicing for some big climbs this summer. So, I'm lucky they asked me to join them on this nice "little" 14 mile workout hike up the Mount Evans road. While heading up we encountered two scientists continuing a 41 year study of ptarmigans. The USGS has taken interest in their work since Mount Evans is a unique and fragile environment that can provide more information on the advance of climate change. Either way, it's a great workout for those practicing to do a marathon - I also made a video of Linda jogging at 12,000 feet around mile marker 6 or so...
