This is the final in a three part series of videos from a presentation by Dr. Pablo Rodriguez on electronic health records. In this segment, Dr. Rodriguez offers advice based on his experience, to ensure a successful EHR implementation.
Dr. Rodriguez is CEO of Womens Care, which is one of the largest womens health care practices in southern New England. He is an advocate of the role of technology in health care improvement efforts. At a recent event for area physicians, he shared his experience with CareTracker EHR and his insights on how his colleagues can take full advantage of the incentives available through The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which provides for over $19 billion in reimbursements for physician offices who implement EHRs and demonstrate meaningful use.
In part one of the series, Dr. Rodriguez provides an overview of why now is the time for physician offices adopt electronic health records technologies, and offers a brief overview of the federal incentives available through the ARRA. In part two, he details the experience of Women's Care in implementing electronic health records, as well as the costs and benefits to that decision.
