This is a more complete and revised version of a shorter demonstration video I made on the heel-and-toe technique back in May.

This demonstration video summarizes and demonstates the fundamental skills involved and how the combined skills are used to master the heel-and-toe technique. The exercise numbers (#1-11) reference the written version of the 20-exercise guide by Garage Woolery. The remaining 9 exercises are advanced versions of the first 11.

  • @hbomb619 You can use it on the road but where it really comes into play is on a track. You can use it to brake and slow down before a corner and while your slowing down you engage a lower gear so when exiting the corner your rpms are in the powerband, and you can accelerate out of a corner faster.

  • @ltmcae haha, i drive a shitty 1.2 clio, i dont get any power....anywhere

  • whats the point of the heel and toe technique? i drive stick and i never use this method. can somebody tell me is this a necessity?

  • @peterhejlejensen He's got an aftermarket steering wheel, thats why the airbag light flashes.

  • 2:05

    bottom right..

    silky smooth..

  • @ltmcae your such a badass man

  • But good technique, hard to do on my car

  • just funny how you shift at about 4000 rpm and I shift my mustag at 2000 rpm while still having plenty of power

  • The reason is to not take your foot of the break and still change down the box. If you didn't match revs it would unsettle the car/grip and Put strain on the engine. It's a good skill to have. If you are cornering and have no need to change gear then left foot breaking is the best choice. That needs practice.

  • I'm gonna get myself a pair of Piloti's pretty soon if everyone doesn't sell out of them.
