The impact of atheism in America will be discussed at Lifetree Café. To find the Lifetree location nearest you, visit http://lifetreecafe.com/find-a-lifetree.
This Lifetree program, "Giving Up on God," features an exclusive filmed interview with a former Christian who has embraced atheism. It also includes the story of a former atheist professor, Holly Ordway, who became a Christian. She's the author of Not God's Type.
"Some national surveys indicate a rise in atheism," said Lifetree representative Craig Cable. "Many attribute this to the popularity of the so-called new atheists. We'll look at the trends and invite the public's input on what's happening."
Cable said everyone, regardless of faith affiliation or non-affiliation, is welcome to participate in this public forum.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available.
Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversations about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. To learn more about Lifetree Cafe, visit www.lifetreecafe.com.
