Colemak Layout - 71 WPM

Yeah, my accuracy/technique kind of sucks - I need to work on those. I recently changed to the Colemak layout when I decided I wanted to learn to properly touch type. I was at around 90-100 WPM with QWERTY "touch typing" using just my index fingers prior to the switch and I am now around 60 with Colemak.
I still have a long way to go hopefully, but this was just me testing out recording typing and on the second practice text I got this, my new Colemak record (previously 70 WPM).
P.S. This uploaded super fast - the upload speed at Ohio State is just ridiculous.

@needmorereality all right, needmorereality, thanks for your advice. I will take it and see this to the end. I feel like I'm really hitting the wall though :) Looking forward to feel comfortable in front of a keyboard again!

That's really cool! How long did it take you to go from zero to 60 wpm with Colemak?
It seems I am were you were - a solid 80 wpm with self-taught QWERTY, but I want to learn the proper way. So I though I could learn Colemak while I'm at it. Was it worth the switch?

@kristianlein I believe it took me about a month or so to get up to 60. I'm now around 90 after a few months.
I would say it depends. Colemak feels way more comfortable when typing and is pretty efficient, but you have to carry around a portable key mapper for Windows (not for OSX/Linux) machines as of now when not using your PC. QWERTY has the advantage of being standard on every computer/device. I definitely suggest learning it though, I have no regrets and absolutely love typing now.
