it's one thing to use plastic slate but it's very disrespectful to refer to it as slate. please refer to it as plastic. i don't know what your "earthship" is, but that synthetic roof has a very negative effect on our environment, not to mention no matter what brand it is, ALL of the new synthetics have already failed.

Real Slater, These slate style tiles are made from recycled plastics. Specifically from the type of plastic in 2 litre soda bottles. The damage to the environment has already been done. The idea of our house is to re-use items, or recycle materials that would normally go to a landfill or incinerator. I am not sure what you mean when you say "all new synthetics have already failed" but I can assure ours have not yet let water through or cause a problem.
