I take a look at the differences between the 3-Way Color Corrector built into FCP and Magic Bullet Looks especially when it comes to color correcting or "grading" footage from an HDSLR that was purposely shot with without a lot of processing in the camera.
There is also mention of some particular things I look out for when working with African American skin tones.

  • Great tut. Thanks Chris. I'm actually thinking Color 1.5 in FCS will do what Bullet can do without the presets. Any thoughts on that?

  • @onjoMedia Apple Color is a PITA cuz you have to do the whole timeline at a time... Bullet you can do clip by clip and it is more friendly when you are still editing.

  • Color correction is not what looks is for actually. Though you can cc in it, it is for cging, which is giving an overall look to something. I cc then cg at the end of everything. Your in-built CCer will allow you to separate your subject from the background and be more precise with the adjustments.
