In protest of German media's intensive biased and distorted reports on the recent Tibet riots, around 120 Chinese people working and studying in southern Germany held a peaceful demonstration in Munich on Saturday, March 29.

The protest is conducted in complete silence to send out a clear message: "German media can muzzle our voice, but can't smother the truth!"

With this protest, the Chinese protesters aim to urge the German media to abide by basic media ethics, to stop biased and distorted reports on the Tibet issue, and to avoid similar misconduct in the future.

They also want to call on the German public to listen to different voices, to boycott biased media, and to find out the truth on their own. It is already proven in the history that a biased media will not only threaten others, but also harm the Germans themselves ultimately.

  • most germans dont have a opinion/care about tibet anyway, its too far away.

It just was that big of a topic because of the olympic games. And if you know "free media" you should know that they making the most money out of scandals. And if there is no scandal they try to make one.

I really dont understand why chinese make such a fuss about it, even most of us germans dont care and you make it as if we were being manipulated by our media.

  • @parsimony1902 The main point is that I think it's fucking sad that you think it's stupid they're protesting abuot this because they can just change the channel. THey're taking advantage of their freedoms and should be commended for it not criticized.

  • @parsimony1902 The Chinese do have a policy of non-inteference in economic policy of African countries unlike the Western model that advocated aid for economic change via the IMF & World Bank. Go read a book, spefically "The Dragon's Gift".

I know that there's various and sources showing that the German media misreported the entire Tibet affair (along with everyone else). THe only source that got it write was the Economist. And hey, I do regularly protest for various issues (like Palestine)

  • @what77777

so what do you actually do that makes you so much better than everyone else and btw what do you know about the german media e.g. "shit like this"; also, this is you!! "Ironically, the Chinese advocate self-reliance and having africans help themselves". If you knew a little more about PGM mining and mineral exploration in Africa you would not write such nonsense.

  • @parsimony1902 Oh and changing the channel because you disagree with something is the exact opposite of the freedom we have. We have the right to protest in our societies against shit like this. It's people like you who are the problem. Laissez-faire idiots sitting down and doing nothing.

  • @parsimony1902 Yup, and good on them for expressing their free opinions against the shitty german media. A free media shouldn't be as biased as the bullshit state-controlled media of China.

  • These folks are lucky to be in Germany. A dissenting crowd like that in China, unlikely. To read banners saying "Medien unequal truth" is a farce coming from such a crowd. If you disagree with the opinion posted about China outside of China then change the channel. At least you have the choice to do so, less so in China.

  • i don understand ..why german race are just so funny .it is like a homeless guy said another person is poor ==! i have been to germany i know what kind of life german people have ..... it would not be better than chinese people

  • Ha, what a joke, chinese people are telling the german media it's biased? At least our media is not part of the government, at least our media has the RIGHT to say what they want.
