My dad has one of these its an amazing machine but hes got upgraded anti-roll bars on it, i would recommend them as classic range rovers are easy to roll over

Me and my family have owned Land Rovers for years - from series IIIs, Defenders, Discoveries and Range Rovers. There's a standard saying: if it's not leaking, it's empty!
Seriously, a Japanese 4x4 may cost more to repair, but that doesn't matter as they very rarely go wrong. The only reason Land Rover spares are so cheap is because they sell so damn many of the things! :-)
They're great fun to own, but only if you love getting your hands dirty. If not, get a Land Cruiser or a Patrol...

to jerruno93 ;naa your dad doesnt know. he proberly thinks hiluxs are good, but hes wrong and they cost heaps. rangies are cheap as and far stronger. cheap to fix too. And much nicer to ride in. just get a 1990 or older and you will be laughing
