After a whole year of trying to get back to this place during three holidays, I finally had plans for a Friday that were actually successful!

Mosman Council, found where I am on the North Coast of Sydney, is another council contracted by URM. They have the same service as Pittwater including the weekly garbage, streamed-recycling, manual greens and bi-annual clean-up. This particular action of the garbage collection is brought to you by one of the four MacDonald Johnstons in the council, which is the only one with some decent signage.

Hope you enjoy the footage, please rate and comment like usual. Also if you haven't already, take a look at the video of the bottles collection with this truck and the video of the little 4x2 side loader picking up the garbage.

Body Make: MacDonald Johnston
Model: 22m MkIV SPORT : Standard Refuse Body
Chassis: Iveco Acco
Council: Mosman
Contractor: United Resource Management (URM)
Collection Type: Garbage / Trash

  • Have you got a video of The Mosman Veg if you do could you upload it on Sunday if you don't have a video of it could you get one?

  • @Binboy97 I don't have anything of Mosman Veg unfortunately, I did try to get the action on video previously, but things didn't work out. I don't really have any plans to return to Mosman anytime in the near future, but I can tell you the truck is a JP5 / ACCO from 2005. However, I've videoed the Lane Cove green-waste which is basically the same as Mosman, only key difference is the engine under the cab.

  • Yeah!! One of those ASLs w/fold up doors that nobody knows the reason for!! Heeyyyy, I'm diggin' that startup shot from above and then all of a sudden the fricken bin goes under the truck!! How many times have you seen that happen before?? Did you get the greens there too or no? I gotta say this was a pretty enjoyable vid with all the weird 2 level streets and stuff (+ the LE-like chassis)...so this one gets a fav in addition 2 the normal 5 stars!!

  • lol Well in Mosman this LE concept actually fills its purpose... lots of getting in and out at this place! Yeh was a bit of a surprise when the bin rolled underneath, never seen that before, so was just as entertaining lol I would've gotten the greens, but the driver wasn't very comfortable with the videoing because they do a few sketchy things during the run lol I wasn't fussed though, nice guy and stuff + I should be getting the same stuff in Lane Cove. Thanks a million! =]

  • No prob, really like vids like this when the background is unique/different (5:50!).

Whoa, Aussie driver who isn't comfortable with the video?! That's a first...or so it seems. What 'sketchy' things do they do?? Makes one suspicious...

  • haha Well he told me sometimes they throw the greens back into the bushes, just chuck bins and containers all over the place, things like that lol

  • awesome

  • LOL the bin rolls under the truck. I remember posting a video where a driver knocks down a bin and it landed where the tire would probably hit it.

Great video overall. I cant believe I missed it. I'm kind of behind on my Subscriptions. 5 stars and a fav.

  • Yeh they're very very rare these days... Willoughby and Ashfield are the only other councils I know of to have them, but Ashfield won't soon. I noticed on the older trucks that the seat is almost vertical! lol Imagine having to drive like that?! This driver has told me that even with his seat, when he goes down hills, he has to support himself with the windscreen lmao Yer the sunguard's just missing, these trucks get battered a lot... you'll see it's present in a clip of the bottles video.

  • Nice one Mitch, I haven't seen an LE Chassis for a long time, they have to be a unique chassis. I noticed that the seating position is different to the old International ACCO LE's. The older LE ACCO's had the driver just about standing while in the Iveco's, the driver is more sitting down. Nice truck and it works and sounds quite nice. The cab I noticed is missing the sun guard, usually only FL's don't have that, do you know why?
