Sound only. Of the metrobuses Manchester received from Oldham, nearly all had the unusual reduction hub arrangement which resulted in a less than pleasent sound. However, for some reason (very odd considering they where all from the same batch) two had the normal arrangement. 30312 was one, and this bus (30313) was the other. This bus had a particularly pleasing sound as its diffs where at the "present but not too ear-splitting" level.
Ignoring the picture, this run is actually from a 562 and starts off on the ungodly climb out of Denshaw (hopefully you get an idea of how hard a climb it was, we slip between 1st and 2nd for a full 3 minutes before getting into 3rd) before a run over the moors and the huge drop down past the M62 and towards Ripponden which was at fairly astronomical speed (imagine coming up the other way!). My recorder ran out before the bus had got to a stop which means the recording finishes in full flow (which I always hate - many apologies) but I put it up anyway.
Love the sounds of these legendary buses

omg either this bus was caning it at 50mph+ or very low geared, seem to accelerate quickly , made me think despite sounds they are Cummins engined.

The two cummins engined buses from possil MB44 & 45 were pretty quick. When 44 had an overhaul it could accelerate up hills easily, but 45 always sounded knacked. All the possil metros should have been cummins powered, cause they had to run the 18 and climb up east kilbride rd. Some were so slow you could jog passed them on the way up...
