  • Who is doing the vocal on this record? Rosemarie Lombardo?

  • @Crockerish I just pulled out the record and indeed you are correct! Although, they have her name listed as "Rose Marie" Lombardo. Good ear.

  • @Crockerish There were 2 Lombardo biographies written, one in 1966 and in 1975. Pretty sure they both mention that Rose Marie was with the band for only about 6 months, in 1943. Her sister Elaine married Kenny Gardner.

  • Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians were my parents favorite band. (I don't think it was just because my dad was from Canada. ;) They had seen them several times while the band was on the road and came through town.

  • @sydanddi1 I hope you got my previous reply. I was saying that I'd searched to find out who was singing a song I'd heard in a movie and found that it was Rose Marie Lombardo. Sadly, I also found that she'd passed away. I'd so hoped to track her down and tell her how much I loved "Sleep Baby Sleep." Also, my drummer has played with the current touring Guy Lombardo orchestra when they've played in Alabama.

  • Rose Marie passed March 16 2011 with children at her side in Whitehouse Ohio. RIP Rose Marie

  • Ahhh... brings tears to my eyes. I'm sure she is happy, where ever she is - it's her nature to be so.

  • Rosemaries sister Elaine married Kenny...Elaine never sang with the band..

How do I know this? I'm Rosemaries daughter Diane.

  • I love Lombardo"s music and I did know that Guy"s sistor Rose Marie did sing with the band early on,so it was just a wild guess but at first thaught Francis Langford.

  • Great,I knew she started singing with the band early on the gave it up when she married thier lead singer Kenny Gardner whom I met.
