Catherine Dancing during labour

Catherine dances through the contractions of established labour. This video was taken when I was around 8cms dilated. When examined at 5.5cms the baby was in a back to back position. After dancing and performing hip circles for a while the baby had turned into a perfect position ready for birth.
At this stage contractions were every 2 minutes. There are two contractions during this movie, the beginning and end of which are marked by me reaching for the TENS machine on my hip.

@MsBex88 Between contractions I just found it relaxing and helpful to keep moving. During contractions I did hip circles which turned the baby from a back to back posterior position to a perfect anterior position for the birth.

This is so beautiful! I've never heard of belly dancing during labor before, but I am so going to do this with my next pregnancy. Where did you learn to do this, and what is the beautiful music? The selection seems just perfect for the moment.

I had already been dancing for over 10 years when I had my little boy, but I originally learned through adult education classes. There are many teachers out there, if you do a google search you'll probably find one near you.

Unfortunately I don't know the name of the music, it's something I've had for years that I use for cool downs and I've lost the original CD. If anyone know's it I'd like to know too!! :/
