Ashokan Farewell

We are three YouTube friends. This video is the result of our combined efforts. Myself (HectorAwol) from Australia posted a video of Ashokan Farewell on Button Accordion (Melodeon). Brian (BENNYMANS99) from Ireland added the other instruments; drums, bass, piano, banjo and second accordion and sent the mp3 (audio) to Fran (AccordionLadyMI) in the USA. She in turn has done us proud making an excellent video. A big thank you to Brian and Fran for combining their talents with my original video. It was fun taking part in all of this. Hope you enjoy it.

Further information:
Most people mistakenly believe that Ashokan Farewell is a tune from the American Civil War. However it was written in 1982 by Jay Ungar at the conclusion of the season of summer music camps that he conducts in the Ashokan, New York region with his wife Molly Mason.
It was later used as the title theme of the 1990 PBS television miniseries, The Civil War[1], as well as the 1991 compilation album, Songs of the Civil War.
