Schumann: finale of the second symphony - BBC Philharmonic - Gianandrea Noseda conductor Live July 2007 A great performance by the great young italian maestro.
For me the ending is just right - a al Barenboim / Chicago Symphony. Except that with Barenboim the timpani ends its last roll with an emphatic tap just before the orchestra finishes the note. A small thing but a brilliant effect.
@operissimo84 lovely tempo good brass work

Operissimo84 sei abissalmente stupido. Studia e quando pensi di dover dire qualcosa pensaci bene e poi stai zitto!

operissimo84 sei un grande ignorante. Impara anche un po' d'inglese. 'boring' devi proprio esserlo tu, livido di invidia

Way too fast at the end; faster than Toscanini!

Noseda is a fantastic conductor. This is as good as I expected. His Schumann 4 is also amazing

Wonderful tempo, articulate, dynamics, transparent, emotional, romantic. Noseda is really first class-in the tradition of the great conductors.
