I wish Ransom had not become a critic and remained a poet--his art is so brilliant

that was mad gorgeous.

My! I'll have to listen to this a few times. Only thing that keeps coming to mind is Pygmalion and Galatea. On a side note, my Grandmother's married name was Ransom, but I doubt there was a relation.

could you upload "Janet Waking"?

@vivascargill I have recorded "Dead Boy" and "Janet Waking". I decided not to post them on YouTube - because the comments they would draw would annoy me. The same reason he stopping writing poetry, I'm almost sure. If you want an mp3 of both of these poems, I can send them to you - if you supply an email address. With regards, Tom

@SpokenVerse I have toaught both poems with great success--I have tapes of Ransom reading them but I t5hini you would do you tube a great service. Perhaps you could explain yiur hesitation--oh BTW what is a "flag porch?" (in Dead Boy)
I assume you are speaking of your stopping writing poetry not Ransom's --I certainly would like to know your work--but any mp3 would have to be sent to my other computer. But later for that. Please reconsider,
Best

@vivascargill "flag porch" means made of flagstones - paving. I meant Ransom stopped writing poems because people bothered him with questions. One grows tired of talking about it. Writers get trapped by their notoriety and try to escape from it, maybe never write again - Salinger, for instance.
