NINOY AQUINO's undated speech in Dallas (between 1981 & 1983)

To commemorate his 78th birth anniversary (11-27-1932), here's a short video excerpt of a speech Ninoy Aquino delivered while in Dallas, Texas sometime during his furlough in the United States. He discussed the potentials of having big business opportunities for the land of Mindanao as well as job opportunities for Filipinos in the Middle East, which he believed would eventually put an end to the Muslim insurgency in the South.

It's a vision he shared with a Muslim friend and fellow patriot, the late Sultan Rashid Lucman, who's a former Mindanao legislator and founder of the Bangsamoro Liberation Front (a Moro separatist group against Marcos). In addition, it was he who helped Ninoy acquire a fake passport in the name of "Marcial Bonifacio."

Unfortunately, this is the only portion of the speech that we have; and we'll continue to find a full version of this undated video. Nonetheless, it was a great find that should be shared to all of our freedom-loving kababayans! =)

Ang ganda pala ng mga plano ni NINOY para sa mga taga Mindanao at sa mga kapatid nating Muslim. Sayang talaga...what a great plan it could've been!

Thanks for sharing this clip...now I know more that Ninoy cared for the Filipino Muslims and the peace and order situation in Mindanao.

Ninoy indeed had great solutions in mind so that the insurgency in the south will finally come to an end; Sana ganyan rin ang mga plano ni Pangulong Aquino para sa ika-aangat ng ating mga kababayang Muslim - at sa susunod na anim na taon, sana mabigyan-solusyon na rin sa wakas ang digmaan sa Mindanao. During this speech Bapa Rashid Lucman was in Saudi paving the way there for Ninoy’s arrival.Ninoy went accompanied by the Japanese journalist Wakamiya. [Aminullah Alonto Lucman can relate the rest of that story.] As aftermath of Ninoy’s death,we converged in San Francisco to establish the Ninoy Aquino Movement (NAM).Senator Heherson Alvarez was elected President; Rashid Lucman as International Vice-President.In our hotel,Bapa Rashid Lucman told me how Ninoy could have helped solve the problems--

You know what, he's the only one who's enlightened me that the Communist Party of the Philippines deserves representation in the Philippine Congress. I've always branded the CPP-NPA as terrorists to abhor. Ninoy, however, had been in contact with the extremes of our society and thus if there is someone who'd come up with a solution, then it'd be him. Give them representation, give them a voice, then maybe they'll talk and we'd finally really listen.
