  • @joeyisfunny

    some pretty powerful stomping then

  • WTH? They sound like cats fighting....

  • @joeyisfunny Around the three minute mark they stop sparring and start a training exercise. He's supposed not to block those hits.

  • @SalokinRechra Its called stomping the floor that the camera is on.

  • You can see those head hits coming a mile away. Just turn the sword up to your head and block it. They are like posturing cats screaming... lame.

  • Looking at the guy in black made me want to dub Darth Vader breathing sounds over this video just for fun.

  • @loknar86 That is only partly right. Ki means "Energy" Ai means "Harmony". A Kiai is a shout to harmonize your energy with your body and action. (Harmonize sounds retarded, a better translation would be "synchronize").

In Kendo you shout the area you ant to hit with your Kiai, So you shout "MEN!" if you aim for the head, "DO!" if you aim for the breast, "KOT!(E)" if you aim for the wrist and "TZKIII!" (Tsuki) if you aim with a thrust for the throat. If you make a hit without Kiai, it wont count.

  • either it's Ki or amazing camera shaking effects

the video resonates whenever they clash
