Hi guys! Here's a foot-stomping version of the title track from last years album, Wood'n'Strings. It's a great tune to play; the melody and chords sit comfortably on the guitar. It's a bit more dramatic than most of my postings so far but still fairly reflective of what I do. I'm just sorry the setting isn't a little better!
For all acoustic guitar enthusiasts; I'm in open Gm tuning and wearing a thumbpick to help drive the bass along. I was aiming for a nice clear melody.. although I usually get those runs a little crisper!!!
As always, this is recorded direct to disc; no effects, no editing, no fuss.
The mic is a Rode NT5 kept a good 12in away from the fingerboard to get some air around the sound (that and the fact I pick this tune quite hard). The guitar is my Taylor Cocobolo limited edition. It's a stunning guitar.
Thanks for watching!
I do appreciate your music using many different guitar tunings. I personally love open D - Vestapole. This particular piece is simply fantastic!
