I am only a teenager, and this music is what keeps me going. This is one of my favorite songs, but now that I know that Ray Boltz is gay, I don't know what type of role model I have. I am really trying to live a serious christian life, but this fact only makes it harder. Ray... I Love You

Sam, your "role model" must be solely Jesus Christ the Son of God, and not Ray. Jesus will never fail you. By His Spirit He had made you more than conqueror because greater is He that is in you. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you dare ask or think, to enable you to overcome by His strength according to the power that is at work within you. He is the One who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.

@Matrixqc u say our role model should solely be Jesus,but yet i know u probably have other role models, one of my role models is my youth pastor, my psychotic friend's role model is marilyn manson,so who are u to tell a teenager who their role model MUST only be,we can have more than one role model, as long as we worship 1 God! i mean seriously, who died and made u king?

@MsMatayla I am not against having more than one role model. It's just that there is no perfect role model like Jesus Christ; nor will there ever be. All other role models are imperfect no matter how good they appear to be. Look at what Paul said in Phil.3:4 - 'If anyone else thinks he has something to brag about, I have more...' and he goes on to list some achievements that probably could make him a role model to others to follow. But in verse 8 he concluded: "I count them all to be rubbish."

@wvest167 Yes, Jesus deserves our admiration as the Perfect Role Model because He is the Son of God and also our great High Priest who can be touched (identify) with our infirmities (weaknesses) He was tempted at all points like we are, and yet without sin. Heb.4:14,15. He knows every sin that ever committed from the beginning to the end of time. He became sin for us! "He who knew no sin He made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Cor.5:21.

@MsMatayla Your pointing something out that is completely irrelevant, If you are a true Christians, Jesus should be your only role model in my eyes, because none of your role models, Youth pastor, Marilyn Manson, are perfect, but Jesus is, and yes Jesus died and hypothetically made us kings so, that answers your response.

@MsMatayla I hear the pain in your soul, and I know what you mean about role models, but, maybe what people are saying is this: No matter who, in this world, that we put our trust in, they can, and often do, let us down.Many people fall when their "Christian" leaders fall. Only Jeus loves you enough to never fail you. He is the only one capable of that much love, and His heart is for you...I pray you receive this little note in the spirit I intended it. Let's stop praying to change ray boltz or so sad he is the way he is. God will deal with him justly and that's God's business not ours. However we should pray that whatever steps ray takes is in the footsteps of god and to do whatever is right. If god loves him, and we all know he does, then he will see ray and pick him up in his hands and love him as only GOD can do. we cannot that's why we are eager to bash someone who strays. Let God deal with ray our job is to pray to GOD to love him.
