When it comes music or lyrics music(raga) should be given importance--Sangithakalanidhi R Vedavalli Amma, so what Mr. Srikumar did is correct. You should train your ears, purify your mind and attain a level where you can enjoy music without the help of lyrics otherwise how can you enjoy an instrumental recital if the composition is unknown to you or how can you enjoy Paganini or Mozart, is there no bhava in their Music.

The singer is expert in Carnatic music but in bhava. Music is an agglomeration of of Bhava, raaga and laya. It is balance of things erstwhile. i can not appreciate broken sanskrit verses... "Peenapayodhara......" I find the gopis breasts are moving according his gamamka...For me, when someone sings Ashtapadi, I imagine the serenity of poetic composision...He failed totally....Voice and monodharma are good.
Jayadeva could have taken patent right for Geeta Govindam ;-(
