While hitchhiking out of Denver in 1981, I was stuck at 70 east and 25 north, so I got out my marker to sign the lightpost like others had done, when I read the following words.

I saw J.P. at the King Center in Fla. Kriss Kristofferson openned for him. John was in his fourth song and the lady on the other side of my wife leaned towards me and asked me to "Please stop singwith Him." So I did and noticed I wasn't the only one singing right along with Him...  They got an ovation of course and Both Kris and John came out and played a few more together. It was GREAT!!

Those were the days, no way that would be done now, you'd e probably get a ride downtown instead of a meal and a ride., He was a hell of a nice guy.

I lol at this because although I may not have written that sign we likely passed each other at that stop lol no joke the yr before that going west from Denver on 70 I was whited out in a snow storm on the road and the only person to rescue me was a Patrolman ,who did not search me lol and gave me 20$ and a ride to a truck stop and bought me dinner,never forgot that either! Good job remembering those words.Rick

If you have never been to see John Prine in concert you are missing out. I have seen G&R, Motley Crue, Kiss, Iron Maiden ac/dc, Metallica, etc. and I am not knocking those a bit, very high production entertainment. John Prine is a great story teller and very entertaining, no big cannons or light show but just as entertaining. I hope to see him in concert again soon...
