Let's hope this classic is left untouched by the Hollywood folks that just can't seem to be able to write an original script and resort to refrying old, quality horror movies.
One of the weirdest and scariest movies of my youth.

@JBostonAshoka No worries. I wasn't offended about anything. I enjoyed visiting the early cemeteries when I lived in New England.

@Miniver765 Yes, I remember getting your answer and think that I sent you an email. It was awhile ago. I appreciate the info and did not mean to be rude. Think in the email I told you that I am big on (esp. Puritan era) gravestone study (symbolism and research), so that's probably why I like this movie so much. I photograph gravestones all over up here in northern Mass.

@JBostonAshoka I don't know if you ever got an answer to your question, the house is in Old Saybrook, Connecticut across from what I think is a Toyota dealership. As far as I know, the last time I was there the house was boarded up and in a state of neglect.

This is probably one of the most underrated Horror movies of all time. Very creepy, very quiet and scary. I just want to know, the redhead was she a demon, or a vampire of souls? She just gave me the creeps.

Can anyone post some scenes from this movie? I remember the scene after the red-headed hippie chick shows up of one of the guys playing the cello in the living room and it was just a spooky scene all conveyed with tone rather than anything overt. This scene lets your imagination do all the work.

@Findyoursanctuary Zohra was in some movies and Television in the 60's and 70's she was in West Side Story and on a short-lived TV series called The Girl With Something Extra in 1973. The only other thing I've seen Mariclare Costello in was the 1980 movie Ordinary People

@castingtherunes Extremely underrated I could watch this over and over and never tire of it.

@tapeduk Music is very sad yet haunting at the same time, I really wish that Zhora Lampert and Mary Claire Costello would have done more films man I would have loved to have seen them in a lot more.

It wasn't Karen Black, it was Kim Darby...yeah, I finally found it on some horror flick website...It's called Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. I just remember those creepy little demon dudes...I think she should have stomped on them myself, but hey if it was me, I wouldn't have stayed in the house after the bathroom incident....NOPE...I have a healthy appreciation for the supernatural and I would not stay.
And I would have definitely gotten out of the town in THIS flick, too...EFF THAT!!!

Didn't she have a flash camera as a weapon for she knew the demons could not stand light and as they dragged her to hell she kept flashing the camera to try getting away?
I always liked the end of that film. I have vivid memories of watching this on late night tv back in the 80s when I was young, listening to the somber piano music that dies down as the wind can be heard followed by the television station's sign off. There was something quietly disturbing about it all.

I was deeply impressed by this quiet last scene more than shocking scenes before it.
The boat carrying Jessica drifts ghostly between this life and another. Then only death will be left there.
