A video of me playing "Beatdown in the Key of Happy" by Four Year Strong from their 2007 album "Rise or Die Trying".

My playing is way sloppy in the beginning, but it's a-ok for the most part. Some silly palm muting f-ups, but hey, I'm only human.

Threw in the Slayer breakdown part which FYS did during their Eastpak Antidote Tour shows. Of course it won't sound as good since the original BitKoH track is running in the background... I realized now later that I could have put in the original Slayer track there instead, but meh. Basically a video which I've been wanting to do for a long time and using recording setup which I've long wanted to test. The video was recorded using my Nikon D5000 (once again) this time without any sound being recorded by the D-SLR. Instead I had the original track running from my laptop out to a 5.1 computer speaker set. And I had my Darkfire running sound into my Line-6 Floor Pad which sent the sound to an old Aiwa mini stereo system and to the line-in port on my laptop. I then synched it all using Adobe Premiere Pro and the result is what you see. I was well pleased with how easy the whole process was and how it turned out. Even though there was wayyy too much trouble with Premiere Pro.

  • nice guitar.. nice cover.. you need to be in a band.... :) uhhmm.. question here.. how did you record the video using your D5000? I know the mic is kinda bad but you did great on it. keep vids posting

  • @photoxloan Thanks dude!

It's all explained in the large body of text in the description.

The D5000 didn't record any sound, sound was sent through a Line6 FloorPod and straight into my laptop.

The mic on the D5000 is horrible, so yeah this was my project for finding a better solution of recording my guitar playing, I think it turned out pretty good ^^,

  • Sweet cover bro! Not alot of watchable covers on yt anymore. You just got yourself another subscrober!
