2011 has been a groundbreaking Year for Nicolas Jaar. One could almost be tempted to rename it to "Jaar 2011".
A first Desktop and later on Band Live Tour saw him with sold our concerts on almost random play and on all continents.
His Wordandsound / Whatpeopleplay distributed seminal album "Space is only noise" (Circus Company) has by far not being produced "Hit Material", but it became one instantly. A at first fragile, rather slow and dedicatedly musical piece that like no other became not only the ultimate "Me Too" with the electronic (and not only electronic) scene but helped create the leading musical trend of this Year.
Rightfully so, Space is only Noise" made it Top2 Album of the Year by British Trendsetting Record Store Rough Trade this month and no doubt, it´s creator will lead those Years End Charts by many and far.
In addition Nicolas´ label "Clown & Sunset" is restarting with Release 7 , a 10" called "don´t break my love ep" now and upcoming 008 by DARKSIDE which are Jaar and Dave Harrington.
Whatpeopleplay´s Zarah and Julia took all this good Reason and some time out during a recent Tour break to sit down with Nicolas and speak about his Music, Background, motivitation and personal outlook on the upcoming work in progress.
It´s pretty comprehensive folks, so sit back, relax and enjoy with excitement. November 2011, Kai Fraeger

He seems to be like those reserved guys that listen to electronic music that most people consider weird stuff.. And you can really hear his personality on his work. I feel identified with him. Love Nico`s music!
