This series chronicled the adventures of eccentric junk dealer Harry Broderick (Andy Griffith)and his band of misfits as the traveled the world in their home made spaceship salvaging rare and exotic items. Harry Broderick is actually my favorite role of his, and its a shame this series didn't last any longer than it did.

The premise of the Salvage 1 series was slightly far - fetched, but with Branson - type megabucks it could've been done, even back then. The idea came from Harve Bennett ( Star Trek II ) & Isaac Asimov was a scientific advisor for it as well. Andy Griffith was a heckuva versatile actor, & I don't think he ever worked " blue ".

The premise came before Richard Branson's Virgin Aerospace & other space entepreneurs , & who knows, Branson may have gotten an idea or 2 from it. Emphasis on " MAYBE ".

I watched this as a kid. My Dad was a big Andy Griffith fan watched it and Matlock religiously.

Andy Griffith was a supurb actor ,and "Salvage 1" is my ultimate scifi movie
