Well, people keep asking, so here's a sonnet.
The dark wood picture is a wallpaper you can download:
http://www.scenicreflections.com/download/412686/Aqua_Painting_Dark_Wood_Wall...
The wood is dark and there are things in it.
Suddenly a giant offers you his hand
And says "I'll lead you on a little way
I've been here a long while. I know this land."
You almost take it but friends say "Stay back."
He seems so gentle but you are not sure
He says "I grew this tall stretched on the rack
Of bitterest transactions, now I'm pure".
Doubt grips and holds you while the sand
Runs through the glass at time's command.
Wet ferns embrace the trees and shadows creep,
Night's coming and there is no place to sleep.
You chatter to companions, they're lost too.
Over the crowd, his eyes are watching you.

Hope you write and recite many more of your own sonnets. This one respects a tradition and then shows what the loosing of a few fetters can do.
I also hope you don't trouble yourself with envious dummies who can't write but do anyway.
Thanks for a fine place to YouTube!

Great sonnet you authored - very dark - To me, it conveys that unsure temptation towards drugs or alcohol for the first time. However, congratulations reaching 1,000 posts! I think I can speak for most who follow your channel that because of your hypnotic readings, I am more familiar with writers who I may have never known existed (what a tragedy it would have been to have never heard a poem by Larkin).
Thank you for your readings and to a 1,000 more!

I think I understand now, the giant is "stretched out on the rack" and that he "knows the land" meaning a coming of age for girls to find an experienced man, im guessing?

@johnalanhale5 Well, a poet shouldn't try to explain his work, just in case people find meaning and wisdom in it that he never intended. But yes, that's pretty damned close.
