@barrymorrisss So you're not impressed, because... what is most difficult in a helicopter is a nonexistent issue with this sort of vehicle? Because the greater number of rotors make it much more stable, and multicopters have a much easier time hovering in one place than helicopters...

Looks very steady...

that made me very dissy..lol
-
love the antennas
-
good job...

Thanks for the input, Guindehi.

Putting someone's work down on the internet just makes you sound like an idiot. This obviously took a lot of work, and he certainly wasn't being a showoff about it, so don't be an ass. And I hardly think WATCHING a helicopter pilot in training qualifies you as an expert.

I'm not putting down the work, just asking why I'm not seeing the one main thing only a helicopter can do.
It would be like building a Harrier jet model, but not having hover capabilities. Whoopee.

@barrymorrisss Man, these UAV can hover like hell! But hovering is very boring on movie, isn't it? We stopped making hovering movies years ago... ;) But rest assured, there are Power Hover Pilots out there, hovering the hell out of their UAV... :D

I watched a learning copter pilot once. He did one lap like this thing did, and then practiced hovering over the deck for the next half hour.
THAT is the measure of a copter, not flitting about.in circles.

Seems you never tried to build one of these? This is not true. Hoovering in place is quite easy... flying circles is, what confuses flight control algorithms...

Awesome! your `copter seems very stable. Did you write your own code or are you using one of the open source programs like aeroquad?
