  • "...aggressive use..." is a misnomer. "preemptive use" is a much more accurate phrase. And Dennis is right. Israel's use of American weaponry does violate, in the most flagrant manner, the Arms Export Control Act. Israel has clearly committed preemptive acts of extreme and deadly violence, and in fact has bragged about it.

  • An eerie reminder of attitudes in US foreign policy, perpetuating this absurd pre-emptive doctrine congress seem hell-bent on legitimising.

Kudos to Dennis for at least speaking out to the issue. Even the Wall Street Journal recently came out, accusing Israel of "war crimes".

  • Congress better get its f***ing act together, with foreign policy and with the economy as well. As Kevin Phillips points out, the USA won't be the first 'superpower' to go by the wayside due to the ridiculous pursuit of war.

Israel's attack on Gaza is nothing but a land grab. Similarly, our attacks on I. and A. were resource grabs. Imperialists always create some 'doctrine' to justify their immoral aggressions, and frequently some 'cause celebre'.

  • I wouldn't hold your breath. Both parties are circling the wagon with their resolute faith in toxic paper and this suicidal green doctrine. And Obama's foreign policy advisor should give you some indication of where their international interests reside (i.e. more wars, more land grabbing, more banker bailouts).

  • The appointments have been... disappointing. I don't know what you mean by the 'green doctrine'. As for international policy, at least we don't have a gang of maniacs at the helm anymore.

  • Obama is pinning America's economic recovery on windmills and solar cells, the central doctrine of his administration. And lets not forget the return of Paul Volker, and his Trilateral interest rate regime. Put simply, you can forget about any meaningful form of 'New Deal' recovery or production.

Speaking to Obama's direction in foregin policy, look no further than Zbigniew Brzezinski for a historical framework of where this administration is going (see "The Men Behind Obama").

  • Dennis Kucnich would have been a Great US President, God Bless Him, He is one of few US Politicans with the COURAGE to speak up. Him and Ron Paul of Texas -- Strange one is very liberal and the other very conservative. And this is not a liberal or conservative issue, it is a Humanatarian issue!!! The Palestinians have suffered for such a long time, due to US Vote Bank Politics -- Due to AIPAC, and crazy Christian Zionsts who want to see the End Times Come!!!

  • Your inadvertently showing various forms of weakness. These fatuous and vacuous opinions which you express lack merit. You yourself are so weak, you have to build Dennis Kucinich down in order to build yourself up. The provocative language in which you use will not gain superiority over anyone.

  • It is time we all stood up to the liars in our media and in our congress, senate and in the White House and say, No more, no more—Israel must stop this barbarism, this Hitlerian behavior or must be condemned and cut off from any aid from the United States and its allies in the world. If we do any less, then we are complicituous in this new holocaust, and no parades, moral duty to stand up and demand this stop.

  • I am also very troubled by Obama's appointments. But he could appoint Medusa, Foo Man Chou, and a doppelganger, and still be a welcome step up from Bush.

I agree with you further- that alternative energy development, while a fine thing, is no panacea. In my opinion, repair of raods, bridges, dams, &c- isn't either. We need to focus on increasing manufacturing, food production, and water resource capabilities.
