Camera car (me) - KA-T with running a GT3076R @18psi 91 octane
The hatch - SR20DET running a GT2876R@ 17-18psi 91 octane

Shows that KA's are a "little" faster than SR's ;)

45- 135mph

the car's info can be seen here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3324799/1

  • S13 driver is a great driver it has an Enthalpy ROM tune with 740cc injectors.

S14 KA has an Enthalpy ROM tune with 850cc injectors.

The turbo the s13 was running is my old turbo.

  • I trapped 120 at 14.5 psi.

I'll run you again next time, but you're gonna need to bring more than cams haha

Maybe a KA will let you stand a chance.

  • GT3071R is not at all the same as a GT2876R. The GT3071R has a much bigger exhaust housing, if you want to compare engines, compare them with the same turbo. Both are nice engines that can be capable when given some TLC.

  • @wanteds13 Yes, they are not the same, the GT2876R has a much bigger compressor wheel than the GT3071R.

Then GT3071R does not have a bigger exhaust housing, it has a bigger turbine wheel but smaller compressor wheel. Can you even read the turbo specs?

  • It's all about the motor.

  • The GT2876R is almost the same size as the GT3076R. Only rated 50hp less.

  • @sunnys14 Oh really? Your car sounds like it has a screamerpipe so you probably aren't running the internal gated T2 based .64 A/R exhaust housing on your 3071 now are you?

  • @nykillak123 will do, and I hope to have it done by september hopefully I want to enjoy it a lil before the winter hits

  • @DcEvoIX Sounds great man, well let me know if you have any questions, if i dont have the answer i kno someone who does, how soon you getting the project started

  • @nykillak123 yea I figure why get the black top for a couple less miles they come from japan where they only see 35-45k miles which is like a nice break in period for the stock turbo so you give it like a 500 mile rebreak in and your rippin it after and I have a hard time finding nissan shop the guys at certified racing are good friends of mine so I might do it through them

  • @DcEvoIX tru tru, well this time im going to have a premade harness made from wiring specialties, its a brand new harness that plug and play and it just seems like a great idea, im not sure when but soon i will and ill just get rid of my old one, your in jersey your good man you got so many engine spots down there, good luck with the swap, let me know how it comes out, which sr you gteting s13 redtop?

  • @nykillak123 and I'm from jersey just across the lincoln tunnel

  • @nykillak123 yea I was doing some research last nite I'm deff goin to do the sr I can get the motor for 1500 but suporting parts for the swap will come out to around $2500 and I want to do the swap myself just trying to make sure my boy knows how to wire it cuz why spend 300-400 for someone to wire it when I can spend like 500-600 and have the swap done right

  • @DcEvoIX the sr swap isnt too expensive, i dont know your budget, but its probably the cheapest route, to turbocharge and build a ka will cost more, even though when you do the sr to get to 350whp you will need a bigger turbo and supporting mods. so would you rather build a KA to make 350whp or have a stock sr with supporting mods to do it, you can keep your a/c and idk where your from but i usually spend about 1500-2000 depending on sr, theres plenty of sites and different prices

  • @nykillak123 yea as of know I'm just looking for 350whp till I'm where I want to get to with drifting I love the sr so much but I don't know how expensive the swap is and I want my air conditioning the rb is like the 1 that if I had the $ to go nuts it would be something to marry lol but as of now I just want a reliable turbo swap since I've been low on cash

  • @DcEvoIX its all about preference, how much power you looking to make? do you want a 4 banger or want an inline 6? i loved the ka bout i personally think the rods are too long i broke rods left and right and i was tired of em even on a built motor, i can say that not everyone had this problem so i switched to an sr, and i used to hate sr's until my boy walked me lol but his was rele good, but rb is def a good project thats what my friend has not and he loves it, jus a lil more expensive to do
