  • i have put a 2 speed assembly in my z01t and this this will scoot!! the two speed is for a thunder tiger st-1. if you get one to convert it you will have to get the brake pads to go with it and use a dremal tool to make another slot for the second gear to ride in and on the brake guides on the truggy will have to be cut to allow for the bigger brake pads. you will also have to buy another set of brake cambers and use two of the long ones together.

  • @stevensons glowplug engine wouldnt start on gas :P

  • Well My infared thingy is a cheapo one so that may be off, I drive a 1/8 buggy with a .21 engine and I have had it running great for over 2 years now, I use it often, maby on the weekends or whenever the weather is good and It is still is great!, Not as much compression as before but still alive and kicking!

  • He explained it to you. The proper operating temperature for ANY nitro RC engine is 220-250. Running 200 or below, as he said, causes a LOT more wear and tear than at 250 because the metals in your engine haven't expanded properly to form a tight fit (the same reason you let the engine warm up first before running it hard).

I've used O'Donnell's, Byron, Wild Cat, etc, etc... There is nothing wrong with any of them, but I notice more power from O'Donnell and Wild Cat than Top Fuel or Byron.

  • It runs great!

Dont know why you are being sorry!

  • At this point it doesn't matter what fuel you are running, I feel sorry for your motor. Poor thing didn't see it coming. LOL

  • M,y engine runs fine with byrons, You think what you want to think but i KNOW that for me byrons is much better than odonels!

  • Get yours temps above 200. Running a motor under 200 is just as bad as running lean. The sleeve doesn't expand enough and the piston rubs hard against it putting huge strain on the connecting rod. Running a motor at 250 is fine and won't do any damage. Running a motor at 250 is putting less damage then a motor running below 200.

  • No, I actualy tune by the ammount of smoke,

When my engine was properly tuned with byron I took the temps and it was around 190-200, then I did the same with what little odonels i had left and it was nearly 250!!!

  • 40-50 degrees come on, that's a little over the top. You will have to tune your motor again when you switch fuels but the temps shouldn`t change that much if you are using the same percentage of fuel. And you should tune by performance and not temp.
