The dolls featured in this video are newer-model Barbies which I have customized into the 80s cartoon/toy characters from Jem and the Holograms. I re-rooted their hair with the appropriate dayglo colors, painted rock star make-up over the original Barbie face and sewed some of the clothes. (see below for which outfits I made.)

The music is "Celebrity Skin" by Hole--very appropriate for a real life perspective of pop-starlets. ;)

This is a fan video made purely for fun because I'm a huge fan of 80s cartoons, toys and appropriate soundtracks. =D The music and characters are being used without permission.

Handmade clothing:
Pizzazz's entire outfit (accept the shoes)
Roxy's pants and belt
Stormer's shirt
Aja's complete outfit (accept the shoes and stockings)
Kimber's jacket

  • Your dolls are gorgeous! They look better than the original doll line!

  • @chain2fate Thank you!

  • LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! Eric Raymond & Craig Phillips! Beautifully done updated looks to the Holograms and the Misfits yet they still look classic. Pizzazz swinging a guitar at Eric. I love the story and as RD mentioned, Megatron. Hysterical. Beautiful work!

  • @cut2thechas Thank you thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I had a blast putting of this together, from shopping for just the right doll to remake, to the final edit in the video.

  • the somg are okay it is 80/. not 100

  • @DavisBaybee1 so, Courtney Love gets a B- for this song? I can respect that. =)

  • @shanasfashionsdotnet If you don't have anything substantial to say, then why bother commenting?

  • @shanasfashionsdotnet "Barbie is not a Jem Doll....."

*condescending little kid voice* Very good, now, can you tell the difference between blue and red? I'll give you a gold star! LOL... talk about missing the damn point! Face-palm! It's a shame that some people don't have a creative or imaginative bone in their body. If everyone was this myopic, we'd be back working on the wheel still. "Dude, a rock is not round." Troll elsewhere fool!

    Badass video Toyz!
