No the Germans gave Draza Mihajlovis a GOLD Anti-Partisan Badge because he told funny jokes?! Get Real. Serbs collaborated. Why don't we talk about Nedic who was a Serb general and ran the Nazi Serbian puppet state during WW2? He was killed by the partisans but his portrait still hangs in the Serbian military academy TODAY!

@martinsuper73 The Germans never gave Draza a medal. They actually hunted him religiously( See the US congressional record from 1987 for this).The only reason Nedic's portret is hanging in the academy is because Germany like in WW2 installed a puppet government in Belgrade & because he helped the Germans kill over 80.000 Serbs they insisted the n puppet government in Serbia to hang is portret ''proudly'' everywhere they could. Its very embarrassing how badly we Serbs have fallen in recent years

@martinsuper73 About the medal, the Germans never gave out an anti partisan medal to anyone in any theater either Yugoslav or eastern europe. The did gave out gold medals for bravery to foreigners, but Draza never got one since they hated him

More Anti-Partisan medals were given in Yugoslavia than any other Country except Russia. But you already knew that. Yugoslavia was only held together by a dictatorship. First, it was the dictatorship of the Serbian kings, then it was the dictatorship of Tito. Tito never groomed a successor, instead after him, it was to be ruled by a rotating presidency of the presidents of the various Yugoslav republics. They clung to nationalism, and that is when Yugoslavia broke up. So bad, I was there when it was Yugoslavia, and I could not tell who was Serbian, Croatian, Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, or Muslim.

I get how you guys want to be independent and all but why so much hate for Jugoslawia? Not under the thumb of the West or the East but standing alone independently. Even if I was a nationalist that is still something I would be damn proud of.

Anyone propagating the "theory" that Chetniks were anti-nazi is either taking some serious psychodelics or is brainwashed by Serbian expats (initially fugitives) who formed the infamous Chetnik divisions. The fact that Chetniks were major fascists is evident in Italian, German, as well as western WW2 intelligence documents, not just by the accounts of Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian people. I am Serb, and I can tell you that Serbs FROM Serbia are well aware of Chetniks and who they are/were.

YUGOSLAVIA was united only when big powers were equal like during Cold War.

even though serbians are denying the fact that vlasi are romanians in every way and don`t give them rights i feel sorry that Yugoslavia split up...you guys lived together for 1400 years without hating each other some of you were weak and became catholics or muslims! but this is no reason to hate each other... you should reunite again couse together you are strong!

much as I had thought, serbia are a proud people who lost alot during both world wars - there are no goodies and badies in history just shades of grey - I mean it, even hilter can be understood and in the early days had some very positive qualities with national socialism... but out of all this the serbs come out as a proud and defient people who have been wronged on all sides, of all the countries involved I have most sympathy/empathy for the ordinary serbs and the russians in new soviet block!
