@ivapino Why not, it is reasonable. A king built a structure and then imported plants from across different regions. This is all completely possible with the technology of the time. And a rich king would have the money to do it.

I don't understand why you people are so sure about the existence of the hanging gardens of Babylon. There is actually no conclusive evidence of its existence, neither archaeologically, nor historically. It could very well be one more myth about the ancient world.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were destroyed by a massive earthquake after the 2nd century BC. Strabo describes the gardens as being built around a sort of step pyramid, which was a common form or architecture in the Middle East at the time.Recently there have been excavations on the banks of the Euphrates River of some substantial 25 meter-thick walls. Some scattered seeds founded around the excavation area which proves that the Gardens did exist after all.
