@efreddyfusion Freddy my boy, I am going to type slow because you probably can't read very fast. I did not prove your point- I nuked your point. And would you please tell me what church those types of music came out of. What was the date? What church was it? Were you there to witness it, or are you repeating what you have been fed? And the example I gave was a killer example. The rock and roll spirit wouldn't jibe with hymn music, they don't go together.

@squarestackolardems 1-WRONG how is a type of music or the way music sounds SIN? The things you just named are biblically laid out acts of sin. The sound of music is NOT. Using music, even the music you hate CAN and IS used to call people to repentance. I know atheists who realized the ugliness of their sin and came to Christ listening to the music you persecute!!! And they're still in Christ years/decades later... Fruit is stronger than any argument... you shall know them by their Fruit!

Actually that HAS been done. theres blues/soul/r&b music thats come straight out of church. They put their emotions & content on it & change its use for evil. Sounds of music CAN be neutral Again it is the expression behind the music & content that makes a difference.

Nor would At the Cross have the same affect if put to Amazing Grace-horrible example

@efreddyfusion If the style doesn't matter, then why did the rock and rollers invent a new style to give expression to their lifestyle? Why didn't they use hymn music? If content is the only consideration, then there was no need for a new style. They could have sung "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" to the beat of "Amazing Grace", and according to you it would have had the same effect. No, music is not neutral. Certain styles of music arouse certain emotions and fleshly passions.

@squarestackolardems I'll Never mix the gospel with the wicked elements but an a minor chord on a rhodes or guitar is not wicked. Godly music is about content and heart/spirit behind it & what is really wrong with creating music that people will like? As long as the message is CHRIST? Music belongs to God it started with God so even if the devil has stolen it and used it to advance his purposes we can still take it back and use it for God's glory....
