  • I miss this type of singing which I used to enjoy as a memer of of the old Greater Traveler's Rest MissionaryBaptist Church. The last of the great ministering and gospel singing when Rev. Shepherd knew how to relate to the congregation on their level like Jesus did in the Bible and welcomed in the Holy Spirit. He was the Father Figure of them all where you could feel the love. I know he is enjoying God's presence as this song is telling the story.

  • Leader did a beautiful job on the song. May God continue to use you.

  • @MethodistPreacher Yes it is awesome. What shock me was when someone told me that Amazing Grace was written by a white slave owner.

  • @BrothaRollins This is an awesome song. Any one that has lost a love one can relate.

  • It is awesome how God works through cultures, lyrics, and renditions. This Gospel Song is based on the hymn, 'Uncloudy Day" "O They Tell Me of a Home"...to hear both versions with the same words (with slight changes) is WOW...The hymn version was written by a white hymnist and within the European tradition...but, when it enters the black Church culture it becomes purely Black Gospel...that's the history of most Gospel Songs... and we must thank God for speaking to the original lyricist.

  • @uprayup thx for the clear lyrics!!!!!!

  • this song is a blessing...!

  • Monica Jackson did a good rendition of this song.

  • Verse 1

Oh, they tell me of a home

    Far beyond the skies

Oh, they tell me of a home

    So far away

Yes, they tell me of a home

    Where no storm clouds rise

    Oh, they tell me

    Yes, they tell me

    Of an uncloudy day
