A short Sample of the most Common Taiji Quan Techniques and their Applications with Variations.
PLEASE NOTE: this Clip shows some Applications in a playful Manner. Not in a real Combat Situation. It is meant to show how Taiji Principles work together with the Applications.
The Techniques are:
"Brush Knee"
I often see strange Application of this technique, like blocking a low kick. ??? Blocking a Kick is no good idea. In my understanding Brush Knee is to Offbalance the opponent and put him in trouble.
"Fair Lady Plays the Shuttle"
Here it is extremely important to use a coiling action. The upper Arm is NO Block in simple way. It is shaving or better moving the opponants Arm to make lose his Grounding and to open a good spot for a nice shot.
"Step and Kick"
this is just to show how you counter a Kick. You even can grab it, and use a wide Distance for a kicking action yourself.
"Patting the Horses Nose"
a simple strike with proper use of waist and BodyPower.
"Step to the seven Stars"
Here it is important to use shrinking and the a good timing for a upper cut.

All in all it was a quick shot and I didn't make a high-tech Video Editing for Fancy Marketing. It is just showing how applications in Yang Taiji could work.
Just playing around .... ;)

Enjoy.
